Professor Per Christensen
Associate professor Finn Arler
Description:
The Divison of Technology, Environment and Society was created in 2001 based on the two previous groups "Ecology and Energy" and "Technology and Society". The division offers training to a wide range of study programmes at the Faculty of Engineering and Science, e.g. M.Sc. in Engineering - Planning and Environment, and M.Sc. in Environmental Management. The Division is also responsible for courses and project guidance at the freshman study year in the field "Technology, human and society". Members of the staff of the Division are responsible for the Open University programmes "Human Ecology", "Intercultural Environment and Development Work" as well as "Health informatics".
The research of the division is interdisciplinary and combines perspectives from social science with aspects of engineering and planning, particularly with a focus on technological change and environment. In the last few years many of the staff members have been granted a number of European, Nordic and Danish externally financed projects within the fields: science and technology policy, technology and development, environmental management, health sector technology assessment, engineering didactics and energy planning.
